How to Play

Youth Academy

In a nutshell

Send scouts out to bring back young prospects you can sign. Hire a Head of Youth, employ scouts, and upgrade your youth facilities to improve the quality and cadence of the talent they find.

Academy Rating

Higher rating, better prospects. A higher rating means better youth players with higher skill, better form, and more chance of special traits.

No weekly cash slider. Your rating is derived from your Head of Youth, your youth facility levels, and the academy graduates who have featured for your first team. Hire a better Head of Youth, build up your facilities, or blood homegrown players to raise it.

Open-ended, no ceiling. The rating has no fixed cap. Every facility level and every staff upgrade keeps adding to it, though prospect quality eventually levels off at the very top.

What raises your rating

Head of Youth

A higher-tier Head of Youth lifts prospect quality and the chance of traits and hidden gems.

Training Pitches

Raise your academy rating and improve the chance of scouting a real gem.

Dormitory

Raise your academy rating and add prospect beds, so you can hold more scouted prospects at once.

Scouting Network

Raise your academy rating and bring your scouts home from each trip a little sooner.

Scouts

Each scout you employ can be sent on one scouting trip at a time, and you can set its focus to target a position.

Youth Offers

Send a scout on a trip. Dispatch a scout to bring back a young prospect (aged 15-20). The trip takes roughly two weeks at the lowest academy rating, dropping to under a week at world class, and a wider Scouting Network and a better scout get them home faster. Your Dormitory beds set how many prospects you can hold at once.

Sign or pass. You can sign them for 500 Rivs, or pass on the offer.

Offers expire. Offers expire after 14 days if not acted on.

Quality scales with rating

Higher rated academies produce players with better skills and a higher chance of special traits. A world class academy occasionally turns out a real gem capable of competing with peak professionals; a starter academy almost never does.

What to do

Invest early in your youth academy. Young players with high growth potential can become stars over time.
